Brighton and Hove is not a large city and really does not have the capacity for the many functions that are organised. The population during the past year or two has grown.

There is no longer any pleasure in walking around, as the Brighton population is enlarged by growing numbers of tourists and we always have thousands of European students.

I can understand the authority's desire to make Brighton even more popular by giving it the Continental look. I believe environmental services is responsible for giving permission to cafe proprietors to put tables and chairs on the pavement. But enough is enough.

Such furniture is now everywhere, even on a narrow pavement. In one particular place, the pavement is now completely blocked to pedestrians. Why has this been allowed?

Walking from A to B has now become very trying and this is not helped by the fact hardly anyone looks where they are going.

After a few hours of looking out for myself and others, I arrive home physically and mentally exhausted.

One annoying habit, now rife, is when people rush out of doorways, instead of waiting a couple of seconds to see if anyone is passing.

No one cares any more, everyone is in such a hurry. Turn back the clock?

Yes, please.
