Vandals ripped off and smashed wing mirrors from a dozen parked cars in Haywards Heath.

Police gave details of the damage yesterday in an effort to trace anyone who may have seen the vandalism in America Lane.

Several residents phoned police to report the incident on Sunday at about 9pm.

Further reports mentioned tyres being slashed and aerials broken off.

Other vehicles affected were parked in Pineham Copse and New England Road.

A police dog team searched the area and scenes of crime teams are examining the affected vehicles.
