I was very pleased to read that Sussex MPs have pledged their support to Vasile Onica, the young Romanian facing deportation.
Since he cannot find employment, he is unable to take up the university places he has been offered because he cannot afford the tuition fees.
Despite being disabled from polio, Vasile clearly has a lot to offer this country and should be given the chance to gain higher qualifications to secure good future employment.
He has been given a chance in life by Dr Stuart Newton and his family and wishes to repay them for all they have done for him.
This case must be looked at in a very compassionate way by the Home Office, for it cannot be right this young man is deported.
Vasile's case shows we have our priorities wrong. He should be able to stay in this country and reach his full potential.
