Mourning families will be able to release up to 24 white doves into the sky before, during or after the funeral of a loved one.
Hanningtons Funeral Directors in Montefiore Road, Hove, has started offering the dove release as part of its service.
Manager Philip Clegg said: "Releasing doves at an appropriate moment can create an unforgettable and serene moment to share with other mourners."
Twelve white doves were released outside Guildford Cathedral after a memorial service for murdered eight-year-old Sarah Payne in August 2000.
A single dove was released at the private funeral of south London schoolboy Damilola Taylor, who was stabbed to death in November 2000.
Mr Clegg noted the popularity of doves when offered by other UK firms who are part of Dignity Caring Funeral Services, Hanningtons' parent company.
He has been liaising with Kent-based dove specialists Safari since March to guarantee the birds are treated properly.
The doves will make their way home to Kent after being released.
