Detectives in Northampton, where the attack happened, have named Raymond Victor Mills, as a man they want to talk to.
A ten-year-old boy was assaulted in a graveyard in Wellington on May 14.
Inquiries have so far failed to locate Mills but police said today they believe he is in Brighton.
Detective Constable Gary Fowler, heading the inquiry, said: "The offender was sleeping rough in a tent before moving on after the incident."
