The RAF Lyneham Old Boys' Association has been in existence only a short while. All members are senior citizens, many of whom served in the Second World War.
The association has almost 200 members, many of whom are widows, widowers or people living alone or housebound.
Our little association so far has put a few old pals in touch with each other and, with the help of local radio and the Press, we hope to find a lot more and put them in touch with each other.
At any one time, there were more than 4,000 airmen stationed at RAF Lyneham from all parts of the UK, no doubt many from your area.
The association is compiling a list of all ex-Lyneham personnel with a view to putting old mates and colleagues in touch with each other once again. The list is open to all - RAF, WAAF and WRAF personnel of all ranks and trades. For details, contact me at 187 Severn Avenue, Swindon, Wilts SN25 3NB, call 01793 728206 or email jim.semple@talk21.com
