Former soldier Paul Goscinski put his military training to the test when he was forced to get out of a port.
Under the cover of darkness, the 36-year-old searched his way round docks at Newhaven for a way of escaping in what could have been a scene from a Hollywood thriller.
Mr Goscinski's mission was not a covert operation but a mission impossible, for he wanted to leave Newhaven docks but found his exit blocked by locked gates.
He had fallen asleep on the last ferry from France and the dock staff had gone home. He eventually climbed on to the terminal roof and jumped 20ft, fracturing his ankle as he landed.
Not such a great escape.
