After reading the comments from a constituent of Forge Close with regard to the non-collection of his rubbish (Letters, August 16), I went there yesterday morning to investigate the problem.
I found no signs of rubbish lying about and a resident I spoke to had no problem at all with the collection service provided by Brighton and Hove City Council and, in fact, was very complimentary about it.
I am confident with us all working together - the council, councillors, the hard working binmen and the public - we can have a cost-effective service working to the best aims of us all.
It can often be more beneficial to make a call to your local councillor in the first instance in order to have the problem resolved.
Most of us are on email and can, in the main, make contact where necessary overnight to officers in order to get problems solved very quickly.
