Prized pooches enjoyed a day in the sun at a dog show for mongrels and cross-breeds in Shoreham.
About 150 canine competitors took part in the Scruffts contest and fun day at Adur Recreation Ground.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes enjoyed the event, organised by the town's National Canine Defence League centre.
Many of the dogs were former residents of the centre and came from all over Sussex and beyond to compete.
Vicky Grylls, assistant manager at the centre, said: "It was a great day. It was nice and sunny although it rained a little in the morning.
"We ran a fun dog show in conjunction with the regional heat of Scruffts, the mongrel version of Crufts."
Pam Smart, of Brighton, won second place in the "Cross-breed the judge would most like to take home" contest with 18-moth-old Sassy.
Pam said all Sassy had to do was "look gorgeous".
She said she was very happy with her prize - a can of dog food and a hairbrush.
