Care home resident Phyllis Savage, 92, proved she was a good sport by shooting basketball hoops to help raise money for charity.
The 16 residents at Roan Residential Home in Hove held a mini Olympics, competing for medals in games such as darts, blow football, hole-in-one golf, an egg-and-spoon race, skittles and archery.
Relations and friends were invited to join in to help raise funds for a Cat welfare group.
There was an award ceremony in the evening, followed by a gala dinner for residents and relations.
Sue Dunlop, a senior carer, said: "It was an absolutely excellent day. So many relations turned up and everyone contributed.
"Life here can be so manic and busy so it was wonderful to give everyone, carers, residents and families, a day of fun."
Ms Dunlop said they hoped to have raised at least £150.
She said: "We are thrilled with the amount because we are only a small care home.
"We chose the charity because one of our residents who died a few years ago supported it. We also have a patio where lots of cats come round to sun themselves and our residents are very fond of them."
