Chris Johnson produced a match-winning display for Ringmer as they beat Hassocks 3-0 at the Beacon.
Johnson scored two superb goals to cap an influential display in midfield as manager Glenn Burvill took charge of his young side for the first time after returning from holiday.
Ian Costello gave the visitors the lead on 48 minutes with a header from 20 yards which left keeper Paul John flat-footed while Johnson scored on 53 minutes after a weaving run and then curled in a free-kick on 80 minutes.
Burvill said: "Our workrate, passing and movement was spot-on tonight and we scored three very good goals."
Pat Massaro netted his seventh goal of the season as Three Bridges beat Whitehawk 4-1. Sean Campbell (two) and Glen Barlow were also on target while Craig Bunch hit a consolation for Hawks.
East Preston won 3-1 in a local derby with Littlehampton thanks to goals from Dave Walker, Matt Huckett and substitute Lee Farrell. Simon Clayton missed a late penalty while Lee Gibbs netted for the Marigolds.
Goals from Russell Hardwell (two), Stewart MacIntosh, Adie Miles and Lee Stevens helped Pagham to a 5-1 win at Wick. Hassan Yassan replied.
Sidley United triumphed 3-1 at Peacehaven with first half goals from Paul Balch, Kevin Rose and Wes Tate. Rose also failed with a twice taken penalty while Matt Balmer replied with a spot kick.
A 19th minute Chris Dicker penalty earned Shoreham a 1-0 win at Hailsham, their first victory under new boss Andy Agutter.
Paul Young struck twice and an own goal completed the scoring as Horsham YMCA won 3-1 at rock bottom Redhill.
Pete Ansley and Jason Wimbleton netted second half strikes as Arundel won 2-0 at home to Sidlesham.
