Craig Ivemy won a gold medal at the AAA Under-17s Championships at Birmingham.
The Hailsham 3,000m runner added to his All England Schools' title in style.
Craig, from Ringmer Community College, picked up the pace with two laps to go.
He wore down rival Matthew Barnes-Smith (Ipswich) on the last lap in hot conditions to win by half a straight in 8min.38.34sec.
It was revenge for Craig, who was beaten in a sprint finish by the Suffolk athlete in the Home International.
Amala Onuora (Eastbourne) claimed two medals.
The defending champion had to settle for third in the 100m. She clocked 12.01sec for second place in her semi-final, but ran .06sec slower in the final.
Amala, who set personal bests in the sprints in April, repeated her 200m silver medal run of last year in 24.98sec.
She was running for Belgrave Harriers.
Jenny Bliss (Brighton and Hove) was fifth in the 300m hurdles in 45.07sec. She finished second with 44.94sec in her heat.
Jenny went straight to the triple jump and was fourth with 11.11m.
Steven Cooke (Chichester) achieved the same position in the discus with a personal best 49.80m.
First-year Wade Bennett-Jackson Wor-thing) was fifth in the 100m (10.99sec) and 200m (22.66sec).
He is also a Belgrave Harrier.
In the 1,500m steeplechase Matt Jee (Crawley) finished seventh in 4min.54.66sec, the fastest time by a Sussex club athlete this season.
Lianne George (Phoenix) reached the semi-finals of the 200m by going close to a personal best.
Florence Ray (Brighton and Hove) repeated the feat at 300m.
