Nathan Jones launches his bid to make a first team comeback on Saturday with a run-out in the reserves against Crystal Palace at Carshalton tonight.
The left-sided Welshman has been out since suffering a knee injury in the pre-season friendly at Bognor on July 22.
Boss Martin Hinshelwood is less optimistic about the prospects of Jones' fellow midfielder Steve Melton, who hurt a hamstring before scoring in the opening day win at Burnley.
Shaun Wilkinson and Richard Carpenter are both expected to recover from knocks sustained in last Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Norwich.
Albion Reserves: Petterson; A. Hinshelwood, Virgo, Hammond, Jones, Harding, Rogers, Pitcher, Lee, McPhee, Marney. Subs: Packham, Bartholomew, Greatwich, Beck, El-Abd.
