Robin Martin-Jenkins has set himself a target of 50 wickets and 1,000 runs in Sussex's four remaining Championship games.
He went into today's match against Lancashire at Hove (11am) on 30 wickets and 755 runs and keen to make sure his most productive season for the county ends on a high.
He admitted: "Getting 50 wickets might be pushing it, especially as three of the games we have left are at Hove, but it's still possible and is my goal for the rest of the season.
"I have really enjoyed the season so far. I feel fitter and confident which means I'm not worrying about getting an injury. Hopefully I can finish strongly and help us end the season well."
Sussex are poised to name the side which beat champions-elect Surrey in their last game a fortnight ago as they chase the victory which would more or less guarantee their place in Division One next season.
Coach Peter Moores expects a good pitch after the problems with the wicket used for the Surrey game which was reported by the umpires after 17 wickets fell on the first day.
