Pagham are three points clear at the top of the table after a 3-2 win at bottom side Hailsham.
Chairman Graham Peach was pleased with the display of Paul Gilbert's side as they picked up another three points on the road but Hailsham, despite a spirited display, are still searching for their first points.
Russell Hardwell put Pagham ahead and Lee Stevens bagged a brace but goals from Paul Spencer in the first half and Peter Cooper with 17 minutes remaining saw the visitors forced to weather some late pressure from Brian Dennis' side.
Peach said: "We should have won comfortably as we had further chances. We're very happy with the start though and Paul (Gilbert) is very happy especially with another maximum points haul on the road."
Sidley are second after taking a point at Shoreham in a 1-1 draw.
New signings Spencer Mears and Jamie Quinlan made their debuts for Shoreham and it was an own goal by a Sidley player under pressure from Mears which gave them the lead on six minutes. Kevin Rose levelled for the visitors four minutes before the break from the edge of the area.
Shoreham manager Andy Agutter said: "It is a bit of a disappointing result as I felt we deserved the win but I would have accepted a point before the kick-off. Our new signings added a bit more strength to the side and we are getting there now."
Sidlesham had an impressive 5-1 win over Peacehaven with Richie Davies bagging a hat-trick, Ben Johnson scoring from the spot and Scott Tipper getting the other.
Richard Towers, the Sidlesham boss, said: "Davies took his goals well but it was a good all-round team performance."
Wick and Redhill both picked up their first points after fighting out a 4-4 draw at Crabtree Park, although it took a 90th-minute goal by Matt Critchley to rescue the visitors.
Goals by Mark Price (penalty), Stuart Anderson, with a 20-yard screamer, and Lee Webber fired Wick 3-1 ahead after they trailed 1-0 after eight minutes to an Adrian Brain goal. Herve King and Jon Difford made it 3-3 before Stuart Begent again put Wick ahead, but a late injury to keeper Nick Smith left him struggling, and a last-minute corner was converted by Critchley to seal the draw.
Wick boss Andy Baumfield said: "We were ahead and let it slip again. Basic errors cost us dearly although we struggled when our keeper picked up the injury and he could not come and claim corners."
In Division Two, Worthing United did their neighbours a favour as they ended Eastbourne United's perfect opening to the season. Their 3-1 home win allowed Lancing to go top.
Steyning Town did the Second Division proud with victory over top flight Arundel in the John O'Hara Cup.

East Preston will bring back former Jewson Wessex League champions Lymington and New Milton to the Recreation Ground after a 90th-minute goal by Chris Yelling secured a 2-2 draw at Fawcett's Field. Matt Huckett had given EP a brief lead but Gill equalised within 60 seconds and put the Linnets 2-1 ahead with just one minute remaining.
County League champions Burgess Hill lost 1-0 to another Wessex League side Moneyfields.

Withdean enjoyed a 3-0 win over visitors Frimley Green in the Combined Counties League with every goal a corker.
Chief Alan Pook said: "They were all cracking goals. The first would stand alone at any level of football and was the result of a six or seven-pass move."
Kevin Townsend converted the first from 20 yards after a flowing move while Dominic Shepherd teed up Sam Francis for the second. The third was an unstoppable volley from Damion Dobbyn from the edge of the area.
