A man who died during a late-night boating trip has been named.
The body of Roland Jeffrey, 41, of Stocker Road, Bognor, was recovered from the sea near the town's pier after he launched a dinghy from the beach early on Sunday.
Police believe Mr Jeffrey had been drinking and fear another person, so far unaccounted for, might also have been in the boat.
After the empty dinghy was spotted half submerged, a major air and sea search was launched.
Mr Jeffrey's body was pulled from the water at 3pm on Sunday.
The search continued for another two and a half hours but it was hampered by bad weather and was called off.
A police spokesman said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have helped Roland to rig the boat, or sailed with him, to contact us."
