I read with interest Andrew Morris's comments about his and his boyfriend's bad experience in a gay club, presumably involving straight women (Letters, August 23).
I am curious how he knew they were straight. Do gay women wear labels or do they so seldom go to gay venues the only women likely to be there are straight?
I have to say, as a straight woman, I would not feel comfortable at a gay club.
My experience of men in the clubs I have visited, whom I assume may have been gay, has been hostile.
The only good time I had is when I went with a gay male friend and, even then, the term "fag hag" slipped off one stranger's lips. Maybe these women are masochists.
