Eastbourne District General Hospital has received thousands of pounds to update its appointment system for patients.
Hospital bosses applied for the money from the NHS Modernisation Agency in July and have been awarded £10,000.
The agency helps NHS staff and organisations improve services for patients.
It means patients waiting for endoscopies, which involve a tube with a light on the end passed into the lining of the stomach, will be able to pick more convenient times for appointments.
Endoscopy nurse consultant Anne Wymant-Morris said: "We feel we can begin to plan improvements to our patients."
