It was a pleasant surprise to read the correspondence from Roy J Banks about Josef Locke (Letters, August 20).
I am 74 years old. When I was in my 20s, I used to work in shows and pantomimes with Josef.
What a decent man he was. Once, I was in panto Aladdin at Middlesbrough with two other girls from Blackpool.
Josef was living in Blackpool with his first wife and child at the time.
He used to take us girls after the end of performance on a Saturday night with him to Blackpool to be with our parents for the weekend and pick us up on a Monday morning and take us back for panto.
What a lovely voice he had. I have his cassette and often play his songs.
