Detectives today renewed their appeal for witnesses to a £250,000 security van robbery at Gatwick airport.
They said they had a much clearer idea of what happened during the robbery on a Brinks Ltd security van, delivering and collecting foreign currency to the airport in a service tunnel last Thursday morning.
The offender, a white man in his 30s, was dressed as a security guard in dark blue trousers, a light blue shirt and a security-style helmet.
He struck the van driver in the face, breaking his nose, and stole the money.
Detective Inspector Mark Page said: "The offender was clearly dressed to pass as a security guard and it is quite possible people saw him in or around the airport.
"I would urge anyone who feels they may have seen a man fitting this description, any suspicious vehicle or anyone else acting suspiciously on that morning to get in contact with us."
After punching the 41-year-old driver in the face, the offender grabbed three canvas bags containing foreign banknotes in 12 different currencies and walked away, melting into the crowds.
Another 26-year-old Brinks employee was in the building at the time.
The driver of the van, who has not been named, was treated in hospital and later discharged.
Anyone with information should call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.
