I wonder if readers are aware of the service we receive from our local police force?
I travelled to London on Tuesday morning last week and returned to my home at 8.30 on Wednesday evening.
On entering, I found my home had been broken into and ransacked. I immediately phoned the police, after which I phoned them another five times until, finally, they arrived at 5.30am.
I could not sleep because I had to wait up for them. When the two officers did arrive, they looked around then left, saying someone else would be arriving later.
When I complained of the time it took for them to arrive, they said there was a shortage of staff because of funding.
I am a taxpayer and pay towards this police force. If they need more funds, should not this be paid by increasing council tax?
I am sure the residents of Brighton and Hove want proper policing.
