On August 31 there's another "In2it" night of jazz and improvisation at the Marlborough Theatre, Brighton.
Beginning at 7.30pm, it's led by Canadian vocalist Tess Garraway. Resident pianist and percussionist Joss Peach will be on hand.
Their guest soloist will be alto saxophonist Christian Brewer. Born in London, he studied at the Leeds and Guildhall jazz colleges before spending several years playing in Spain with pianist Chano Dominguez and the band Decoy.
Just back from tours of Spain and Portugal, he is becoming known as a fiercely-talented bop player, chiefly from gigs and recordings with trumpeter Damon Brown and Tim Garland.
Christian has also played with leading acid jazzers Push and with legendary reggae trombonist Rico Rodriguez.
Also on Sunday, there's another rootsy night at The Greys, where Bap Kennedy performs his blues and soul-drenched original songs.
Bap has acquired several friends in the US, with Steve Earle producing his CD Domestic Blues and joining other stars playing on the album including Nanci Griffith.
This will be a chance to see Bap prior to his support sets for Van Morrison at the Dome.
Monday night at the Greys brings Cicero Buck, featuring Nashville vocalist Kris Wilkinson and her bassist partner Joe Hughes.
