Former Eastbourne riders Martin Dugard and Stefan Danno are among the stars coming out for the David Norris testimonial meeting at Arlington Stadium on Sunday.
They will be in the field of a dozen riders chasing the £1,000 winner takes all jackpot being put up by sponsors Templar Mortgages.
Favourite to land the prize will be man of the moment Lee Richardson, who roared to victory in last weekend's final world championship round at Pila in Poland.
Richardson, son of one-time Eagle high-flyer Colin Richardson, dropped only one point in five races en route to topping the qualifiers for next year's Grand Prix.
It was a huge personal triumph for the former world under-21 champion who began his track career in the Eastbourne junior ranks.
Richardson spent most of last season with his career under threat from a mystery virus, but he has bounced back with a vengeance this year.
Earlier in the season he won six races on the bounce at Arlington as Coventry beat the Eagles 45-44 in an Elite League thriller, and last Monday he top scored with 16 points in another nail-biter as the teams drew 45-45 at Coventry.
And Richardson's spectacular run continued on Wednesday night when he amassed 19 points for Coventry in their match at Oxford.
The line-up also includes current Sussex champion Paul Hurry, who won the title in the Martin Dugard testimonial meeting at the start of the season, plus former world champion Sam Ermolenko and Eagles' skipper Joe Screen.
But it is the appearance of Dugard and, in particular, Danno which will capture the imagination of the Arlington fans.
Danno has not ridden in England since the back-end of the 2000 season when he was banned after failing a breath test before the European Grand Prix in Poland.
The incident, which cost him his place in the world championship series, was not the first time he had been in trouble with the sport's governing body during a chequered career.
On a previous occasion, the Swedish star was cleared of assaulting two FIM officials at another Grand Prix meeting in Austria.
Danno, however, enjoyed a lengthy spell as an Eastbourne rider and was a member of the 1995 championship-winning team.
Dugard, whose highlights included winning the British Grand Prix and the Overseas final of the world championship, quit the sport at the end of last season.
No one rides the track better than Dugard, and on his day the rider they called the master of Arlington would have been the one they all had to beat. Even now, you can't be sure he won't spring a surprise.
Another rider commanding a great deal of attention will be Edward Kennett, who will be making his senior debut at the age of 16 years and four days.
Son of another former Eastbourne rider, Dave Kennett, he is being tipped as a future world champion.
It's a big weekend for the Sussex youngster who will also start as one of the favourites for tomorrow night's Conference League Riders' Championship at Rye House.
Sunday will be the first time he has mixed it with the big boys, but the meeting will provide another valuable chapter in a learning curve for the teenage whizzkid.
Then there is Norris, who on current form could just blow away all the rest and win the meeting himself.
The local kid made good has spent most of his career with Eastbourne since becoming Eagles youngest-ever rider when he made his debut in 1988 a day after his 16th birthday.
Norris has been one of the most consistent performers this season on Eastbournes march towards the Elite League top spot.
Perhaps his greatest moment was captaining Eagles to the 2000 title in the absence of the injured Dugard and top scoring for the third successive match in the title-clincher against main rivals Kings Lynn.
Sunday's meeting will be decided over 12 qualifying heats, two semi-finals and a final.
Among the other attractions will be attempts to beat the track record by British ice racing star Graham Halsall and a special challenge race between ex-Eagle Trevor Geer and Eastbourne promoter Jon Cook.
Line-up: David Norris, Edward Kennett, Sam Ermolenko, Paul Hurry, Stefan Danno, Dean Barker, Savalas Clouting, Joe Screen, Lee Richardson, Craig Boyce, Steve Johnston, Martin Dugard.
The start is at 3.30.
