Big Brother star Jade Goody bounced into Brighton and stunned clubbers with her new slimline figure.

Making only her second stage appearance at a nightclub, the blonde appeared at The Event 2 in West Street and showed off the results of her fight against the flab.

Jade, 21, who also revealed new hair extensions, told fans she was nervous about appearing in front of so many people after she emerged to cheers - and some lighthearted booing.

It was the new star's first visit to Brighton since she holidayed in the city as a child.

Speaking about her new-found fame and riches, she told the crowd: "I've certainly done well out of Big Brother.

"I'd recommend it to anyone and I'd go back into the house like a shot if they'd have me.

"I don't think I'll be going back to being a dental nurse."

Jade, who is enjoying the highest profile of any of the participants from the Channel 4 spy-on-the-wall show, told fans she fancied England captain David Beckham - but preferred shopping to sex.

Commenting on her new figure, she added: "I've got my own personal trainer now and the kebab belly is on its way out.

"I went up four dress sizes during Big Brother and it is all coming off."

Jade lookalike Claire Akehurst, 20, from Worthing, who queued with hundreds of other fans for Jade's autograph, said: "All my friends say I look like Jade, so it was great to meet her.

"She is much prettier in real life than on the telly and she has lost a lot of weight. She looks stunning."

Steve Haines, 20, from Brighton, said: "I couldn't believe how thin she looked. I definitely fancy her."

Mark Byford, Event promotions manager, said: "Jade has been one of the most popular guests we've had.

"The club was packed with Big Brother fans. There was a little bit of booing but that was just part of the fun.

"She was on stage for about 20 minutes then spent another hour signing about 300 autographs.

"She seemed to enjoy herself. We had a beer with her afterwards and she said she wanted to come back to Brighton. We'd love to have her back."
