Fletching are on the verge of landing their second East Sussex League title in four years.
Victory over last year's winners Crowhurst Park on Saturday has left Fletching needing just eight points from their final game to be declared champions.
Glenn Potter's side visit Ringmer this weekend and the Fletching skipper is adamant his team will not squander the position they have got themselves in.
Potter said: "I am confident of getting more than eight points at Ringmer, especially as we thrashed them at our place.
"It was a good team performance against Crowhurst. The fielding was excellent. It is all about pressure and that is what we exerted on them from the start."
Fletching and Crowhurst Park have been the two outstanding sides in the league this year. Saturday's scores, just 237 runs between them, might not suggest that but there was plenty of quality in a thrilling encounter.
Having been inserted, Fletching scored just four runs off the first nine overs as Victor Walcott and Paul Brookes (4-79) tied them down.
Terry Lucas (45) and Grant Horscroft (34) put on 80 for the third wicket but Walcott (6-21) returned to spark a collapse, with the last six wickets falling for 30 runs as Fletching were all out for 134.
In reply, Crowhurst Park slumped to 14-5 and they were eventually all out for 103. Walcott hit 37 but gained little support as wickets fell to Horscroft (5-40) and Lucas (3-11).
Crowhurst skipper Brookes said: "We went out thinking we would get the runs quickly. We played some silly shots and really paid for it. We let our season go in 30 minutes of batting.
"We have got to go out against Newick and win and hope Ringmer do the unthinkable against Fletching but as a club we don't think that will happen."
