Two open-air film shows postponed after Fatboy Slim's chaotic beach party will go ahead this weekend.
But there will be a ban on film fans taking glass on to Brighton beach to watch Moulin Rouge on Friday and Jaws on Saturday.
The Stella Screen event usually attracts between 15,000 and 20,000 people each night and organisers hoped a similar number would turn up this weekend.
Extra stewards will patrol the beach before the two film shows, asking people not to take glass to the screenings.
A spokesman for Stella Screen said there had not been a problem with glass at any of the past five annual shows held at the beach.
He said: "It's tin cans and plastic containers only this time around.
"The beach is such a great place to do a screening. Hopefully we will be able to catch the last of the summer sun."
He said more recycling bins would be provided for film-goers and more cleaners employed after each of the shows.
The films were postponed from their scheduled July date after 250,000 pepole descended on the seafront for Fatboy Slim's Big Beach Boutique event.
Stella Screen worked with Brighton and Hove City Council and emergency services to make sure the shows went ahead.
The council said it had learned some lessons since the Fatboy Slim event and would be stressing the anti-glass message.
Culture councillor Ian Duncan said: "We are all delighted to have Stella Artois Screen back on Brighton beach. We have always had great events with them."
Jaws has replaced Quadrophenia, which was to be shown at the scheduled July date.
Both events start at 7.30pm with films beginning at dusk.
