Electrical fitter Dennis Over has retired after 50 years with the same firm.
When he joined Brighton electrical switchgear manufacturer Allenwest in 1952 as an assembler, he was paid 37/6 (£1.87p) a week.
He said: "The firm is very different now. There were more than 2,500 people employed by Allenwest then.
"My father and mother worked here.
"I've enjoyed working here, although there have been some worrying times.
Under the old management, there were several rounds of redundancies that I was fortunate to miss.
"I've seen a lot of changes, conditions have improved and the hours are shorter.
I'll miss the place but I've got plenty to do at home."
