I am one of the 36 people out of 53 (68 per cent) who opposed plans to redevelop the King Alfred site using housing who responded via the web survey.
The reason I gave my opinions via the web was that, despite living five minutes from the site and two minutes from the affected sea front, the council decided not to include me or my neighbours in their paper survey.
If they had truly wanted to know the opinions of all those who care most about the future of this part of our city, they would have surveyed all residents.
My question to the council is this: How did Crawley, Haywards Heath, Lewes, Horsham, Burgess Hill and East Grinstead, to name a few, all manage to build perfectly decent leisure centres not surrounded by hundreds of "enabling" flats?
