Many people will be put off Brighton and Hove's where else campaign because the word culture gives the impression of elitism.
But culture is not restricted to opera, ballet or live theatre. It can be a concert by Fat Boy Slim, Party in the Park, Gay Pride, or the fireworks display during the Brighton Festival, which all attracted huge crowds.
Now the city council is launching Try It in October as part of where else so people can visit venues free and sample their delights.
Thousands of local people have never been to the Royal Pavilion, the most magnificent building in the city.
Under the scheme, people will also be able to get free tickets to a wide range of sporting and artistic attractions.
The aim is to open up opportunities for everyone to try something new. It's that kind of innovative thinking that makes Brighton and Hove a real contender for Capital of Culture.
