A teenage girl was sexually assaulted as she walked to her home.
Police yesterday released details of the attack, which took place in Old Orchard Road, Eastbourne, behind the central library on Saturday.
The 16-year-old victim was grabbed from behind and dragged into an access road at 9.30pm.
Police say she was subjected to a serious sexual assault.
Her attacker was described as 5ft 2in with a tanned, round face and a line of hair on his chin. He had spots under his eyes and on his cheeks.
He had black hair, shaved at the back, and wore black jeans and a plain T-shirt with black stains on the front.
He wore a sovereign ring on the middle finger of his left hand and spoke in broken English with an eastern European accent.
Detective Constable Jason Finch, who is leading the investigation, said: "I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious or anyone matching the suspect's description to call."
