Peace campaigners will remember the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington with a silent walk.

More than 50 people are expected to take part in the Brighton and Hove Peace Walk, the first of its kind in the city.

Peace walks involve a crocodile of participants walking in silence without banners.

Organiser Jason Collodi said: "It is vital to respond with peace and compassion to a day that saw so much death."

Campaigners will meet at the Peace Statue at noon.

The route is expected to take in Brighton seafront, the war memorial and St James's Street.
