Krishnah Singh struck a patient 63 to guide Sussex Second XI to a tense two-wicket victory over Hampshire in their final championship match of the season.

Sussex, set only 192 to win in 83 overs at West End, got home with 25 overs remaining and Singh's valuable innings lasting over two-and-a-quarter hours included seven fours and a six.

Singh and Jason Lewry (14) kept their cool after pace bowler James Schofield (3-49) had triggered a middle order collapse.

Singh batted with concentration to see Sussex through to only their third victory.

Hampshire, resuming on 108-5, could only add 51 before their innings ended on 159-9.

Scores: Hampshire 334 and 159; Sussex 302-9 dec and 193-8.
