Dominic Shepherd got the only goal as Shoreham completed a league double over County League leaders Burgess Hill at Leylands Park.
Former Hillians striker Shepherd slid in to volley home Mark Pulling's 20th minute cross to settle the issue.
Shoreham player-boss Andy Agutter said: "We thoroughly deserved it again. The conditions were awful for both sides, very muddy and very boggy.
"It suited us better than it suited them. They tried to play football but you can't in those conditions. We just out-battled them."
Agutter, who missed two good chances himself, would like to see his Shoreham side produce the same sort of performance every week.
He said: "We are a good side but so inconsistent. If we can get consistency into our game we can be a top five side. Having said that, there are a lot of teams in this league who are up and down.
"When I won the league with Langney Sports we lost one game all season. Burgess Hill have lost four before Christmas but hand on heart I still think they will win it."
