I was interested in the article regarding bad LPG car conversions posing explosion dangers (The Argus, October 30).
In response to a letter I wrote to the November issue of Diesel Car Magazine, the editor published my letter and the results he had received regarding the acceptance of LPG and dual fuel-powered cars by Eurotunnel on the trains going through the tunnel.
Eurotunnel will not accept such cars as the independent survey they conducted indicated that 19 out of 21 cars checked were unsafe. I think a Trading Standards officer carried out the survey for them.
I wonder if any readers contemplating driving their LPG-powered cars to the Continent via the tunnel know of this restriction?
