The feature on carers (The Argus, November 4) gave a very clear and moving insight into the dedication shown by them to the people they care for. They are, in my view, unsung heroes.
Many carers are needed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which makes it hard for them. There should be more official recognition of their hard work and the loving care they give, with no complaint.
It is good that carers are given the chance of having a break by various charitable organisations.
Holidays play a valuable part in their lives and they need to know the people they care for will be well looked after while they are away.
We must always remember that carers save the NHS millions of pounds as many of those cared for are relatives.
