Car owners in Crawley have been warned again to secure their vehicles following 16 car break-ins in the past three weeks.
Most involved theft of car stereo equipment in the Broadfield area.
PC Nigel Tinkler said: "People should have their property marked and to fix a sticker on the window showing the property has been marked.
"In doing so they reduce the risk of their vehicle being targeted as the thief will always prefer the softer target."
He urged people to keep items out of sight if left in the car and to remove the front of their stereos.
