Albion have mounted an appeal over Michel Kuipers' red card at Withdean last Saturday.
The Dutch keeper was sent off towards the end of the 3-2 victory against Bradford for a foul on Stephen Warnock which gave the visitors a penalty.
Boss Steve Coppell's reaction immediately after the match was that ref Brian Curson got it right, but the Seagulls have decided to appeal on the advice of a local referee.
"I haven't see the video myself, because there was a bit of a mix-up," said Coppell. "A local ref of some standing has and he feels there is some justification for us."
Kuipers is suspended for Albion's next home match against Derby on November 16 unless the appeal succeeds.
