Brighton and Hove being named as the capital city for drug deaths is not the sort of publicity we need. This problem must be dealt with by all the authorities concerned.
More needs to be done to help all concerned. Drug addiction is a problem up and down the country but we must, as a major holiday resort, be seen to be dealing with it.
Brighton and Hove's reputation for drugs encourages addicts here knowing drugs are available.

With the city losing out on the Capital of Culture list, we can see the image of the city is of vital importance. The drug problem may not have influenced this decision but we need to keep a close eye on our image.
