So the Government is trying to get people to use public transport? No way, Jose, after my experience the other day.
I went shopping in Waitrose, Brighton, which took me approximately half an hour.
Coming out of the supermarket, I noticed it was 3.10pm and realised I had missed the 3.03pm bus. I contented myself there would be another bus along at 3.33pm (as on the bus timetable at the stop outside Waitrose).
Many buses passed by but no No 14. So I waited a further 30 minutes until 4.03pm. Still no bus. By this time, I was very cold and wet. I decided a No 14 must come by 4.33pm - but no.
I then walked to the stop outside Marks & Spencer with two heavy shopping bags. I had just arrived at the stop when a No 14 arrived. I boarded the bus, glad to be out of the wind and rain, at precisely 4.40pm and arrived home at 5.30pm.
All in all, it took two hours and ten minutes. What kind of a service is this? Never again.
