The latest compact digital camera to be released by Mustek, the G-Smart Mini 3, is about the same size as a credit card and not much thicker.
It is a gorgeously sleek, little silver number and very functional.
The G-Smart Mini 3 offers a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 (with digital enhancement) as well as 1600 x 1200 and 640 x 480.
It is capable of saving up to 180 pictures taken using the lowest resolution.
The camera has 16Mb of memory, can record video clips and has a self-timer with a ten-second delay.
Installation is easy and swift using your computer's USB port.
I quickly grasped how to operate the camera and was able to look up an online manual for tips on how to get the most from the kit.
I was amazed by how rapidly digital technology has advanced.
A few years ago, I bought a good quality digital camera that was about five times the size of the G-Smart Mini 3 and with far less functions.
It has been swiftly relegated to the back of my desk drawer with a couple of obsolete mobile phones and last year's diary.
If you have not yet succumbed to the digital camera revolution, this might be the time to join in.
The prices are now very reasonable, with models such as this retailing for less than £100.
