A satellite dish can be installed on a house in a conservation area - as long as it is painted to make it look less conspicuous.
Arun planners gave the go-ahead for the 37cm satellite dish to be erected in River Road, Arundel, after hearing the applicant would paint it to match the chimney stack.
Arundel Town Council and The Arundel Society objected to the planning application on the grounds the dish would look too conspicuous in a conservation area.
Members of Arun District Council's development control committee heard from planning officers that they considered the siting of the dish to be satisfactory and not visually prominent.
They approved the plans on condition the dish was painted to match the chimney stack.
