The retirement of three chief officers at Worthing Borough Council has been confirmed.
An exclusive in The Argus on October 9 revealed how Colin Smith, Hywel Griffith and Tony Clarke were expected to leave the council following a major staff shake-up.
The three officers, who have worked at the council for more than 70 years between them, are likely to retire by June next year.
Their posts will be made redundant by the staff restructuring and will be replaced by two strategic director positions.
The total cost of the restructuring, including pensions and pay-offs, is estimated at £350,000, again exclusively reported by The Argus earlier this month.
Council leader Sheila Player said: "It is sad to see three chief officers leaving the council after so many years of excellent, loyal service. However, the officers concerned support and fully appreciate the need for the revised structure and proposals."
