A church celebrating its 70th anniversary is undergoing a £90,000 refit.
Work on Offington Park Methodist Church in South Farm Road, Worthing, is expected to last until early December.
The project includes improving the lighting, redecoration, refurbishment of side rooms and increasing the size of the platform at the front of the church.
While work is being carried out on the main building, opened in 1959, the 310-strong congregation is meeting in the original 1932 church, which resembles a barn.
The Reverend Bob Sneddon, minister of Offington Park, expected work to finish on December 8 or 9.
