A woman was threatened at knifepoint in a Littlehampton alleyway by a man who made indecent suggestions to her.
The attack happened as the woman walked along an alley in Whiteways Close.
Police say the woman, who dropped her bag, escaped and ran to a nearby house where she raised the alarm.
Officers are now appealing for an elderly couple who were in the alleyway just before the attack to come forward.
The incident took place at 10.45am last Thursday.
