Hooray. Something is being done about the speed camera in Preston Road, Brighton. It's about time, too.
Does this mean anyone fined for speeding in the past will have their fine returned?
I thought cameras were only to be placed in areas where there are many accidents.
Can the police produce figures on how many accidents have occurred in the area where these two cameras are (there is one on the other side, further south)?
Most of the broken glass you see on the road seems to come from minor mishaps where southbound traffic is waiting to turn across northbound traffic to go into the BT offices further away from these cameras.
If this particular camera has been out of action, where has the flashing been coming from? Perhaps the reflection from the other one?
I was coming up the road only the other night doing less than 30mph - cars a few yards in front must have been at the same speed - when the lights flashed. I wonder how accurate these cameras are?
