Film-maker Brian McClave, from Hove, will attempt to show people the Northern Lights in 3D for the first time.
With the aid of a grant from an organisation called Nesta, he will travel to the Arctic in a bid to capture the lights in all their full majesty for a wider public to enjoy.
Because the lights are so far away, they are usually perceived as being flat but, with specialist equipment, the 3D effect should be possible.
If Mr McClave succeeds, people will thank heaven - and Nesta too.
