I welcome Dr Yen-Chun Chong's support for the stronger line the Government and the Strategic Rail Authority (SRA) are taking to improve standards on trains (Letters, November 9), just as I welcome the Government's replacement of Railtrack by a not-for-profit company, Network Rail.
It is a pity Dr Chong missed the many excellent reports in The Argus over the years about my work, particularly with the Southern Rail Passengers' Committee and the Cyclists' Touring Club, lobbying government ministers and the SRA for improved and more accessible rail services.
Dr Chong rightly believes in the accountability of MPs to their constituents. However, unlike many other constituents, he has never taken the trouble to contact me with his complaints.
He can do so by writing to my constituency office, John Saunders House, 179 Preston Road, Brighton BN1 6AG, or by coming to one of my regular advice sessions.
-David Lepper, Labour and Co-operative Member of Parliament, Brighton Pavilion
