Police are hunting vandals who carried out the latest in a series of attacks on a playgroup in Haywards Heath.
Helpers at the Ascension pre-school group have been left dismayed at the attack, during which intruders broke into the organisation's shed and covered equipment with paint.
The most recent damage is estimated to total £1,000.
In recent weeks, staff at the playgroup have also been confronted with rude words being written on windows and condoms and sanitary towels being stuck on the glass.
Supervisor Laverne Riches said: "The attack happened in daylight at some point between 12.30pm and 4pm last Friday.
"The shed is padlocked but they broke a door by pulling it of its hinges. They have sprayed our squeezy paints everywhere. It is all over the shed.
"Although the police came out. I know this is not the crime of the century, it's mindless vandalism.
"Whoever broke in didn't steal anything. People know the shed belongs to us and there is nothing worth stealing. But a lot of time and effort has gone into getting the equipment and the children take pride in their things. They are very upset that someone has spoilt it.
"By the time we repair the shed, there's about £1,000 of damage. We're insured, but this will push our premiums up and we have to pay an excess as well."
Damaged items included art and craft equipment and a toy farm.
Helpers said the area around the playgroup had become an area where teenagers congregate in the afternoons and evenings and some had been abusive.
One helper, who did not want to be named, said that many of the youngsters often drank to excess and there was evidence of suspected drug taking.
A police spokeswoman said: "This is a terrible thing to do to a group helping young children. We would appeal for anyone with information to come forward."
