Heart attack patients in Eastbourne are not getting the treatment they need within the time demanded by the Government.
The Department of Health says at least 75 per cent of heart attack patients should be given a clot-dissolving drug within 30 minutes of arriving at hospital.
Eastbourne District General Hospital is one of two hospitals in Sussex more than 25 per cent away from the 75 per cent target. The other is Worthing.
The Conquest Hospital in Hastings is meeting the target.
All hospitals in the county have met the target for administering follow-up drugs.
The figures were revealed today in the first report of the Myocardial Infarction National Audit Project (MINAP).
