If you ever went to dance classes as a kid or fancied yourself as a disco diva, beware.

This show will make you want to throw your career on the scrap heap and become a dancer.

A cast of 15 dancers are directed by Anthony Van Last, the choreographer and dancer behind hit shows Mamma Mia and Bombay Dreams.

Bounce is a whirlwind celebration of the history of streetdance, from breakdance and popping to tap, swing and boogaloo.

The dancers spin on their heads, somersault on skateboards, strut around in Seventies flares and bounce for their lives in this energy-oozing extravaganza, which gets the audience whooping, clapping and leaning over the seat in front in a desperate urge to be closer to the action.

The show consists of small acts alternating between different styles broken up by hilarious mini sketches of everyday situations.

There are battles between dancers and skaters, a breakdancer trying to teach a posh ballet dancer to spin and a street fight involving the afro car-wig from the Nescafe advert and a superb Curtis Mayfield track.

Although most of the dancing involves individuals taking it in turns to do solos, there is a curious and touching atmosphere of togetherness within the group as they clap, high-five and cheer each other on.

Each cast member comes from a different background and brings a personalised and innovative style to the show.

Yet there is an undeniable sense of the dancers learning from each other - watching, copying and individualising moves from others in their own routines.

The Streetdance Company was originally formed in 1997 by some of the best street dancers in Sweden.

While some members are classically trained with impressive histories, others learnt their skills directly from the street and this mixture perfectly brings the underground vibe on to the mainstream stage.

To top it all, the soundtrack of hip hop, jazz and funk is to die for and, if you're not co-ordinated enough to leave the theatre and head straight to the dance floor, this show will get you running to the nearest vinyl shop to scratch your own tunes.

Bounce runs from Wednesday to Saturday with each show starting at 7.30pm, plus an extra show at 2.30pm on Saturday.
